Custom made shadow box. The top is secured by 4 nails (will include for new owner but due to photographing and shipping, we removed it as to wrap up the glass securely).
The glass slides down into a secure slot and the top is slotted as well.
I did hours of research and I believe both or at least the Marine is Effanbee Circa 1940's or thereabout. The details are amazing.
I have shown how the heads are attached. The Marine's eye's "roll" or "close".
The bride's dress is stapled in. I am not sure how else she is secured. The dress only has 3-4 neat staples and could easily be removed.
The Marine is more secure. I am guessing glue? It doesn't budge.(this is a good thing)
The bride measures approx. 8" tall and the Marine is approx. 7.5".
The shadow box measures:10.75" wide and is 10.5" tall with a depth of 4".
Both dolls are in great vintage condition with slight "yellowing" to dress and top of Marine's cap. It is slight and in no way distracting. The wood is genuine and not particle board.
This is a unique custom one of a kind rare find.
If I haven't mentioned here, I do not know the answer. My friend owns a storage unit. When it goes for a certain length of time un-paid, it's contents are forfeited.
Everything show is included and doesn't come with anything else. There are no makers marks etc anywhere. Due to the value, rarity and nature of this sale, it is final.
